Great news. We have joined forces with Somerville Bicycle Committee Talk being held at Aeronaut Brewing Company located at 14 Tyler Street Somerville.
We will return to our original and entirely non political purpose, and commemorate those bike riders killed by drivers of cars, busses and trucks. Our message is simply, pay attention and share the road.
We mourn a number of bike riders killed in traffic violence in the last year: Richard Johnson, Gerald Scott, Jr, Rick Archer, Joseph Perez, Lawrence Henry, Daniel Pimenta, Nancy Ann Bronder, Raekwon Jenkins, John Paire and Antawani Wright Davis.
Our route will take us past two ghost bikes. The first, in Porter Square memorializes Joe Lavins and the second, at Mass Ave and Beacon St in Boston memorializes Anita Kurmann. We will conclude on the steps of the State House on Beacon Street by Boston Common. (Exact route to be finalized shortly.)
Please join us as we Ride in Silence paying tribute to fallen riders and asking everyone to please, Share The Road.
And come early! Learn about many of the issues facing pedestrians and cyclists at the Somerville Bicycle Committee Meeting starting at Aeronaut at 6:00 pm. (Link to event to be inserted here.) THANK YOU!!!
