Students of Emerson College stand with Women's March and EMPOWER and demand Congress act to address gun violence in America.
On Wednesday March 14th at 10:00 AM we encourage fellow students, faculty, and staff to walk out of class for 17 minutes.
Those 17 minutes are in memory of each of the lives lost in the latest school shooting in Parkland, FL.
Wear orange. Gather in hallways. Go outside. Gather in public places.
These 17 minutes should be spent making your voice heard by saying #ENOUGH gun violence in our communities, #ENOUGH school massacres, #ENOUGH mass shootings.
— Call your representatives or Congressional leadership. Demand common sense gun laws. Demand that the CDC be allowed to research gun violence in America.
— Tweet representatives and tell them #ENOUGH
— Log on and donate to gun violence prevention organizations, mental health and social services organizations, and other advocacy groups
— Create. Make signs. Flood the sidewalks.
— Spread the word about the March for Our Lives in Washington, DC and other major cities taking place on March 24, 2018.
— Discuss how race, gender, mental health, economic inequality, and gun violence intersect.
