So I'm a huge fan of Mark Rothko, and Klimt and Schiele. Oftentimes, people ask me how to respond to abstract works like Mark Rothko's. They simply don't get it. Or they ask how I see other works from an artist's perspective, as opposed to an art historian's viewpoint laden with facts and life anecdotes.
Honestly, I'm of the camp that doesn't think that an artist's own life needs to direct how we feel about their oeuvre...It's about what we as viewers see and feel in their pieces, how they resonate with us.
I wanted to host a FREE walk through and discussion for any interested adults. We'll meet at 7pm sharp at the Fenway entrance. The discussion will take an hour.
