Welcome 2018 at Billerica Family New Year Celebration. Bundle up for some FUN!
For the 19th consecutive year, the Billerica Town Hall will be host for the town’s Family New Year Celebration, a fun-filled FREE evening designed for the whole family.
Chosen by the event committee, this year’s theme is “Honoring First Responders” with Police, Fire and other Emergency Workers as the center of attention. Members of the Friends of Billerica Recreation, Sons of Italy, volunteers from the Catholic Community of Billerica and other organizations will be teaming up with the Recreation Department staff to make the evening memorable for children of all ages.
In the Town Hall Auditorium Grammy-nominated children’s singer Judy Pancoast will be holding two performances at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on the auditorium stage. Children are invited to join the fun and dance in front of the stage
Mike the Hatman will take the stage twice, at 5 pm and 7 pm, with an assortment of hats and songs. Each show is slated to feature different and collaborative songs to engage the audience. The sets will also include balloons for the children to take home.
These performances are sponsored by the Billerica Arts Council.
On the Second Floor there will be a large selection of carnival style games for the children to play and earn prizes. Decorating masks and crowns with rhinestones, special shapes and feathers is also a tradition for families at this event.
Outside Town Hall, two wagons provided by Krochmal Farms will be running hayrides from the Town Hall to the police station the entire night for those who brave the cold.
The Billerica Family New Year celebration is funded by Town Meeting, grants and donations provided by local companies and friends.
