Bent Knee w/ Bearstronaut, Roz and the Rice Cakes
7PM // ALL AGES // $15
— Bent Knee is a band without frontiers. Its borderless sound combines myriad influences from across the rock, pop, minimalist, and avant-garde spectrums into a seamless, thrilling whole. Fiercely innovative, the group bridges the gap between the experimental and the familiar, merging texture and style into music that’s moving, addictive, and unapologetically original. The Boston sextet's fourth album, «Land Animal», was released in June on Inside Out Music/Sony Music Entertainment.

— Led by longtime friends, Bearstronaut is a dancepop band boasting powerful hooks that connect their distinctive style and attitude with golden era songwriting and clever productions. The band’s live performances are more than just a display of skillful musicianship, as they exude an exciting energy that reaffirms the power of a live band. As Interview Magazine puts it, “Bearstronaut combine the euphoria of the club experience with the grounded humanity of a rock band,” making the group distinct among other dance oriented contemporaries.
After releasing their debut full-length album, «Telecoast», Bearstronaut performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live in the fall of 2017.
— Art Rock is a pretty broad term. Yet, when describing Providence, RI’s Roz and the Rice Cakes, the term Art Rock is not just appropriate, it’s dead center in terms of what they do and how they do it. Under the stuttering time-changes, the crescendos and the complex arrangements, at the heart of these songs, there’s a simple pop quality that roots the band at a crossroads where Fleetwood Mac and Henry Cow mingle with Bettie Serveert and Gwen Stefani. Roz & The Rice Cakes is equal parts experimental and catchy, energetic and bookish, daring and sugarcoated.
Since 2008 the group has been touring the US non-stop, either headlining or supporting such artists as Girlpool, Passion Pit, Frankie Cosmos, Rubblebucket, SALES, The Low Anthem, Joy Formidable, Andrew WK, OK GO, Tera Melos and Man Man. They have played such national stages as the Newport Folk Festival and attended festivals from SXSW to O+.
