A note from event host Brian:
Every year of my life I've used my November birthday as an excuse to gather with friends and play music at some point in the month, but had to skip that plan this year since my wife and I are awaiting the birth of our first child any day now! I therefore would like to make a special birthday request to come hang with me, the John Williams Jam Band, the Burchfield-Vituri Project, and Cocek Brass Band. We're also having the show filmed, so having a friendly audience would be super great!
We'll primarily be playing groovy arrangements of JW's classic themes (so bring your dancing shoes!), spiced with my favorite modern jazz harmonies. While we stray far from what Williams originally wrote, you can rest assured we'll still bring the range of musical emoting appropriate for conveying the majesty of Jurassic Park or the suspense of Jaws.
I'll make sure there's plenty of cake and booze on hand, so I can safely promise it's going to be a fun night! $10 suggested donation
The JW Dance Party Band:
Rick Stone, Sax
Nick Grondin, Guitar
Sean Farius, Bass
Giuseppe Paradiso, Drums
Tyler Burchfield, sax and clarinet
Pedro Vituri, acoustic and electric guitars
If you can't make it on the 15th, we're also performing at Aeronaut Brewery in Somerville the night before to get ourselves warmed up for the occasion.
Expect to see baby pictures from me in your newsfeed soon!
