Please join us on Friday, December 22, 2017 as we usher in the Rebirth of the Sun and the Winter Solstice!
It's a Cool Yule! The nights are long and dark, so we're turning that wheel and bringing back the sun! Join us for a joyful celebration as we mark the turning of the seasons, rejoicing in the light of the newborn Sun and sharing in the warmth and fellowship of community!
We will be doing a upcycled gift exchange, PLEASE bring a festively wrapped «Mathom» (in the tradition of J.R.R. Tolkein: a mathom is the hobbit term for any previously owned item, which they had no longer any use for, but were unwilling to throw away — a creative regifting!)
There will also be much feasting, please bring a Pitch-in Potluck Dish to share. As a helpful potluck guideline (I know we all love cookies, but a witch cannot live on cookies alone), if your last name begins with A — J: please bring a protein/meat dish; K — R: please bring a vegitable/fruit dish, S-U: please bring a dessert or snack item; V-Z, please bring a beverage to share.
Doors open at 5:00p.m. with preritual intro's at 5:30p.m., and ritual beginning at 6pm.
Please be mindful that once doors to the Nelson Mandela room are closed, the ritual has begun and out of respect for other ritual goers and the sacred space, entrance will not be allowed.
Time for fellowship and socializing to follow.
This ritual is open to all experience levels, from novice to adept and is by DONATION, (suggested donation $5-15) which will be collected after ritual; please give what you can to cover costs of room rental and supplies.

«The Democracy Center is now partially accessible with a new wheelchair ramp, however the door may still not be usable without assistance. There is still no accessible bathroom on site; wheelchair users are welcome to use the accessible restroom at Daedalus Restaurant while we plan our improvements for bathroom accessibility. To reach that bathroom, exit the ramp and turn left on Bow St, at the next building (Daedalus) use their accessible entrance and their restroom will be on the right. More information at: democracycenter.org/accessibility. Please direct further questions about accessability to 617 492 8855 or [email protected]
to discuss improvement plans or your accessibility needs.»
