«I was taught to see racism only in individual acts of meanness, not in invisible systems conferring dominance on my group.»
We have discussed the big picture of white privilege and the effects on our society. In this conversation we will look at the effects of white privilege in our daily lives, whether it enables us (white) or is a barrier to us (people of color). We will also discuss strategies for dealing with white privilege on a daily basis.
The conversation is based on «White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack by Peggy McIntosh.» You can read the article at: pcc.edu/resources/illumination/documents/white-privilege-essay-mcintosh.pdf
