The Academy of The Company Theatre (A.C.T.) Teen Conservatory announces auditions for teen actors, plus one adult role, for their production of the original play The Werewolves, written by A.C.T. student and Scituate playwright Alex Moon, on Tuesday, December 12, 3:30 to 6 pm at The Company Theatre Center for the Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. Callbacks will be held on Thursday, December 14, 3:30 to 6 pm. The production is directed by Kevin Mark Kline.

The Werewolves is an original, riveting one-act play about a skilled company of Hitler youth cadets. During the waning months of World War II, in an effort to conserve their remaining armies, the officers of the Third Reich put their Hitlerjugend to the test. After the boys undergo a grim transformation into a squadron of SS guerrilla operatives to be sent behind enemy lines, they are left on their own. As their situation deteriorates and tensions flare, they discover the harsh reality of their Nazi idealism. The Werewolves premiered at Repertory Theatre in New York City this past summer. Contains adult content.

Audition candidates have should arrive prepared to read from the script, available on site, and bring a headshot. A resume is helpful but not required. A $10 non-refundable audition fee is due upon arrival.

Participating in this program is an excellent opportunity for teen actors to work on an original work by a local peer playwright. Tuition for The Werewolves classes and production is $395 per student, some financial assistance is available. Tuition is due after casting is announced. A completed emergency form must accompany audition candidates, available at companytheatre.com/emergencyform.pdf.

Rehearsals begin the week of March 19, details to be announced in February. Additional rehearsal commitment is required during production week. Attendance at auditions does not ensure casting, tuition is due after casting is announced.

Performances of The Werewolves are held on May 18 and 19, 2018, 7:30 pm. Tickets are available at companytheatre.com.
