From gene editing to self-driving cars, in a quickly changing world, innovations in science and technology can raise difficult ethical and social questions—environmental and beyond. Who answers them and how? What’s the role of science? How do we ensure disparate communities and perspectives are heard in the march of progress?

Discussion panel will include

-Sheila Jasanoff, Pforzheimer Professor of Science and Technology Studies at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government;
-Daniel Sarewitz, Co-Director, Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes, Arizona State University;
-Hugh Possingham, Chief Scientist, The Nature Conservancy.

Carey Goldberg, editor of WBUR’s CommonHealth, will moderate.
