So often experiences in life whiz by with little time to reflect on the patterns of action, when combined, these experiences produce. Throughout India, it is thought that the new moon and full moon are especially auspicious times for this type of reflection—a time of contemplation on both our inner nature, as well as our interaction with the natural world. To honor this tradition, on the Sunday closest to each full moon this fall, O2 Yoga in collaboration with Emily Murphy Kaur & Harmeet Singh will hold space for a monthly special event: Full Moon Gong Meditation with Mantra.
This experience will include:

• An opening of Surya Namaskara A and B to settle the body and bring awareness to the breath;
• Pranayama to deepen the breath;
• Mantra meditation to focus the mind;
• A reflective exercise to cultivate positive habits and align our inner experience with the external world; and finally a
• Deeply relaxing gong bath to close out the night.

A little about us:

Emily Murphy Kaur is an educator and writer with a passion for helping people and systems realize their potential. In her recent book, she documents how the process of change relies on advancing our awareness of both our internal and external world and then acting in-line with this newfound understanding—a key to any type of transformation. With this in mind, Emily aims to create an environment for all students that fosters reflection and brings about transformed perspectives on how we live our lives. Emily is an alumnus is O2 Teacher Training; has five months of Ashtanga training under the Jois family in Mysore, India; and is a current student of Ayurvedic Health.

Harmeet Singh began practicing yoga at a shala in Mumbai, India where the guru was strict, classes were free, and guidance was given in a very direct manner to all students (no playing favorites). This attitude and space cultivated transformation, and gave Harmeet a solid foundation allowing him to build a career as a Director of Innovation, helping companies think out of the box, and tap the inner potential of their employees. He brings this same spirit to all his yoga and meditation classes. Harmeet holds 400-hrs of yoga teacher training, both from O2 Yoga and KYB. He is currently a student practicing under the Jois family in Mysore, India.

Harmeet and Emily are happily married and practice Ashtanga yoga, making a yearly pilgrimage to India. They are also graduates of O2's Teacher Training Class of 2016.
