The Academy of The Company Theatre (A.C.T.) announces auditions for youth actors ages 8 to 14 for their upcoming production of Willy Wonka Jr., on Tuesday, September 5 and Wednesday, September 6, from 3:30 to 6:00 pm at The Company Theatre Center for Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell. Willy Wonka Jr. has words and music by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, was adapted for the stage by Leslie Bricusse and Timothy A. McDonald, and is based on the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.

The delicious adventures experienced by Charlie Bucket on his visit to Willy Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory lights up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl's fantastical tale. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder and new songs by Leslie Bricusse (Jekyll & Hyde, Doctor Dolittle) and Anthony Newley, Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Jr. is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth.
Classes rehearsing the production are held from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays during the production season, beginning Monday, September 11. Students must be available during production week for rehearsals on Sunday, October 29 from 4 to 8 pm, and October 30, November 1 and 2 from 3:30 to 6 pm.
A non-refundable audition fee of $15 is payable upon arrival. Tuition for the classes and production is $395 per student. Some financial assistance is available. Tuition is due following the casting announcement. A headshot is helpful but not required. A completed emergency form must accompany audition candidates, available on the theatre’s website or upon arrival.
