Ashtanga Yoga is an energetic flow with a sequence of standing and seated poses followed by backbends and inversions. This sequence allows students to get into a rhythm and drop into their bodies focusing on breath. The poses are designed to awaken, stabilize, soften and open the body and mind. Modifications and hands on adjustments are offered to help facilitate a greater awareness and ease.
This workshop will include the philosophy behind the practice and will explore the energetic component of the postures as well as the physical alignment while learning the sequence. Leah will be travelling from Freeport, ME to join the Akasha Community and bring the gift of Ashtanga. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Meet Leah Titcomb, a visiting teacher from Freeport, ME!
Leah loves the outdoors and grounds her practice in elements of nature. She first came to yoga looking for a way to stay flexible and strong, but soon found that there was more going on than the physical elements of the practice and began connecting with the spiritual practice as well. While practicing Ashtanga Yoga she felt a similar sense of joy and peace as when she was in the wilderness. She has been practicing yoga since 2005 and completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Yoga NH in 2015 as well as her Master Reiki Certification. She brings a sense of lighthearted playfulness to her classes and enjoys moments of still concentration as well as the ability to laugh at oneself.
