You may not know that as an Italian major, Devon wrote her thesis on the resistance, (in Italy). While the proletariat and anti fascism have consumed her academic studies, yoga and self care have been the focus of her career. Join her for two hours of self care in a slow vinyasa flow followed by a yin practice aimed to nurture and rejuvenate joints, soft muscle tissue and the mind. We will also sit in mediation and do pranayama work several times during our class. Quietude in body and mind is our aim. Audre Lorde reasoned, «Caring for myself is not self- indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.» We will not talk politics instead we will indulge in self preservation. Devon has trained with Sarah Powers in Insight Yoga and mediation and practices various yin concentration techniques.
No yoga or meditation experience necessary.
