We enjoyed our last three Sound and Provision events so much, we thought we'd do it again. We'll still have delicious cheese plates, wine and beer for sale and acoustic music for your listening pleasure. This time we thought we would do something a little different. Enter Roslindale-based Some Assembly Required.
Mixed chamber ensemble Some Assembly Required began in early 2015 as a collaborative effort between Boston professional and freelance artists to provide their audience with a unique musical experience, frequently venturing into repertoire that is rarely heard in public performance. The core members of the ensemble strive to designs programs that go beyond the traditional concert format by bringing the performers, audience, and venue itself into closer contact with each other to make the concert experience a collaborative effort between all involved. Not accepting the limitations placed upon them by the small amount of repertoire available to their instrumentation as an ensemble, Some Assembly Required starts with the repertoire by choosing music that they want to present and then finding a way to provide a meaningful presentation of the work by methods of arrangement and collaboration with others.
We're looking forward to some beautiful instrumentals featuring the french horn and trombone. Perfect for an August night.
