Missy and Max are moving to Toronto!
This is not a joke! We are switching out our Dunkin' Donuts for Tim Hortons! Max has been offered a position at a really great architecture firm. His start date is July 4th and we are packing up the moving truck and heading out on July 1st. I'm sure you're not surprised to hear that this is something we've been talking about ever since DT's nomination as the Republican candidate for President. The change in federal administration has created an unsafe environment for our tiny fledgling family, and so we are taking refuge with our northern, more socialist, friendlier, but chillier, neighbors. Please know that we will NOT stop resisting and fighting. We also acknowledge our privilege in being able to make this decision, and we hope that you will understand that this has been a complex decision for us. We look forward to the growth that this challenge represents for us and hope you will support us in this change.
There is a lot we are terrified, excited, sad, and all the feelings about. Boston has been Max's home for 20 years and Missy's for 10. The work that we've done in Boston (MTPC, QAPA, TrailStormers, and MaeBright) will forever be with us as we move onward. Missy will be shifting the work she does with MaeBright to be more focused on administration. Please help send us off by making a donation to MTPC. They will have a big upcoming challenge with the November 2018 Ballot fight to protect the recently passed protections for trans folks from discrimination in public spaces, and every person and every dollar will have a huge impact. Come out, send us off, and get involved locally!
This is an all ages event and we're welcoming folks from all parts of our lives — but you should know that we might be making a dance party happen after 6 pm, so plan accordingly.
Please DO NOT bring us presents — except for donations you'd like to give to MTPC. We might have a few things we're looking to pass on to new owners as well. Max will be grilling, please feel free to bring some food or beverages to share (we might have a keg of cider). Lawn chairs are also appreciated.
